The Hancock Woman’s Club is again offering scholarship assistance to adult women who have been residents of Hancock for at least two years. The scholarships are to help adult women to begin, change or return to their careers after time spent family rearing or other responsibilities. The applicants must provide official confirmation of acceptance to or enrollment in an accredited school, such as a college, university, technical or training school.
To apply, applicants must complete the formal application by April 6, 2021. The funds for the scholarships have been provided by gifts from an anonymous donor who funded the original program, the Caitlin Mullin Memorial Scholarship Fund, additional anonymous donations, and the fundraising activities of the Woman’s Club. Dr. Esther Priscila Biamah-Danquah, the Kpone-Katamanso Municipal Health Director has disclosed that the Municipality recorded 69 cases of teenage pregnancies in 2020.
