The victim of a fatal shooting last week in West Sacramento has been identified as Brenda Jimenez, 22.
Jimenez, a West Sacramento resident, died of a gunshot she sustained to her right arm during a Thursday-morning incident that also involved a pair of vehicle crashes, Yolo County Chief Deputy Coroner Gina Moya said Monday.
West Sacramento police reported Thursday that residents of the 600-block of Cummins Way, in the city’s Broderick neighborhood, awoke at about 2 a.m. to sounds of shots fired and a vehicle collision.
“After further investigation, it was determined there were two active scenes, where two separate shootings had occurred involving two vehicles,” police said in a news release. “Both vehicles came to rest with one crashing into the garage of a house and the other into a parked car in the driveway.”
