Bengaluru, March 8 : In a bid to give impetus to Bengaluru, Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa on Monday allocated Rs 7,795 crore to the tech hub as part of the 2021-22 Budget proposals for the comprehensive development of the city.
The projects include developing new parks, fast-tracking the implementation of the suburban rail project, doubling between Yeshwantpur-Channasandra and Baiyappanahalli-Hosur divisions, construction of foot-over bridges and improvement of schools run by the Bengaluru civic body.

Deputy Chief Minister and Transport Minister Laxman Savadi, on Thursday, hinted at a ticket fare hike for buses run by Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC). The minister said the pandemic and fuel price increase had led to huge losses for the corporation, following which BMTC had proposed a hike in the range of 18-20%. The move comes amidst a Bharat Bandh call by transporters and traders over fuel price hike.
Mangaluru, Feb 22: Leader of opposition Siddaramaiah today came down heavily on Popular Front of India and its political arm Social Democratic Party and accused those outfits of indirectly supporting Bharatiya Janata Party by splitting votes during polls.
