Local high school students interested in agriculture will soon have a new opportunity to pursue a college degree.
In fall 2021, Cleveland Community College will begin offering a “Biotechnology with an Emphasis in Agricultural Sciences” degree. Students will be able to take classes in poultry production, beef production, animal feeds and nutrition, soil science, farm maintenance, agronomy, and biotechnology, as well as basic core classes that can be used to transfer to a four-year college.
Dr. Becky Sain, vice president of academic Affairs at CCC, presented an overview of the new degree option to the Cleveland County Board of Commissioners on Feb. 2.
