Ridgecrest Daily Independent Candidates for the vacant Ridgecrest City Council seat include a former mayor, two former council members and a former Daily Independent columnist. In alphabetical order the seven candidates are Peggy Breeden, John P. “Skip” Gorman, Marshall “Chip” Holloway, William Jinkins, Alice Jordan, Steve Morgan and Christian West.  The list was announced by City Clerk Ricca Charlon at the city council meeting Wednesday. The deadline for applications was Tuesday. Breeden is the most recent former mayor of Ridgecrest. She was the second Ridgecrest mayor elected to the position. Prior to that the mayor was chosen from among council members.
