Death on Krug Street not considered suspicious: WRPS

  KITCHENER Waterloo regional police are investigating a sudden death in Kitchener after a man was found unresponsive on the side of the road Thursday morning. Emergency services responded near the intersection of Krug Street and Cambridge Avenue just after 3 a.m. According to police, paramedics performed life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead shortly after on scene. It is not considered suspicious at this time. Krug Street was closed between Cambridge Avenue and Becker Street while officers investigated but has since reopened. Police say that more information will be released when it becomes available. Police are investigating a sudden death in Kitchener after a man was found unresponsive on the side of the road on Krug St this morning. It is not considered suspicious.

May 12, 2021 Schenectady Police make an arrest after Monday s Becker Street incident. Police were first called to a home after getting a report of a person on the porch with a gun and when they arrived, two men entered the residence before throwing a weapon out the window of a separate home on the property. When officers searched both homes, they found three more firearms. Police have charged Laun Baker with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm, both felonies. He was arraigned in Schenectady and taken to Schenectady County Jail.

The incident began just after 1 p.m., when police received information that a person with a gun was on the front porch of 1571-1573 Becker St, police said. As police responded, two men fled from the porch into the house, police said. Then, as officers began to form a parameter around the house, officers saw one firearm thrown out out of a window from a separate dwelling on the same property, behind 1571-1573 Becker St., police said.

Laun T. Baker, 44, of McClellan Street, was arrested on one count each of second-degree and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm, felonies.
