Number of exercise stations in Poole Park to be reduced

THE number of exercise stations in Poole Park, Baiter and Whitecliff will be reduced, BCP Council confirmed. Existing equipment at Poole Park will be refurbished while the stations will be moved in Whitecliff and Baiter. A statement from Poole Park Life said: “Following a review of the current outdoor fitness equipment and its condition, the 2020 consultation results and the budget available; it has been decided that the number of exercise stations for outdoor fitness equipment in Poole Park, Baiter and Whitecliff will be reduced. “In Poole Park this means fewer outdoor fitness equipment stations around the lagoon (large lake). Existing equipment will be refurbished where possible in addition to new equipment being installed.

Grass maintenance a disgrace and in enormous decline

But Councillor Anderson, this issue is not just about the state of the cemeteries, it’s about the year on year enormous decline in commitment by council to urban landscape maintenance. We have road-side planters around Parkstone completely abandoned, along with weeds along pavements and in gutters. But go into Poole Park and the investment and care of landscape is jaw-dropping. An entirely different planet. No cost spared. Pristine conditions. All the care in the world, yet throughout so many residential areas we’re left with weeds and decay. So don’t talk to us councillor about “arboricultural officers”. All we see when any work is done is operators scything grass and leaving areas dead and lifeless.

Town Leaders Review Proposed Changes to Water and Sewer Ordinances

If youâre building in Southern Pines and trying to connect to water and sewer lines, you might be in for a bit of a wait. The pace of construction in Moore County coupled with the lead time for the town to tap a connection has grown to over 30 days. As a result, Southern Pines has been allowing developers of major projects to contract with licensed utility contractors to complete the connections. During Mondayâs work session, Town Engineer James Michel presented the Southern PInes Town Council with a number of recommended revisions to water and sewer ordinances including new language that clarifies how tap connections on new projects can be handled and the removal of some restricting language.
