Over the Garden Fence: Grateful for country roads
Mary Lee Minor
Pickwick Place was nearly perfect as a gathering place to celebrate being grateful for country roads. When COVID days tightened restrictions a year ago, we backed down. Our seven-county network of region 7 of the Ohio Association of Garden Clubs had no choice but to cancel.
Not all of the members of Earth, Wind and Flowers chose to be in attendance. However, they managed ways to provide full support.
This April meeting was to become a focus on Ohio s Native Plant Month and a way to feature native plants and their effect especially when it comes to prairies. Oh, and our plans embraced a prairie champion, Guy Denny.
Over the Garden Fence: Perennials are on the way
Mary Lee Minor
Our garden club members are dividing and potting many perennials in an effort to thin garden abundance. The faithful public will be offered a chance to enrich their own flower beds May 8 when the Earth, Wind and Flowers Garden Club will offer hundreds of plants.
The assembling efforts include bags, boxes and pots of many types of perennial plants. But our hours are short 9 a.m.-noon.
There will be masks in place. Plants like trees, shrubs and berry canes will be displayed outside. It is likely both ends of the Fine Arts Building will be open.
