Mardi Gras parades canceled in Lockport, Golden Meadow

Two more communities have decided to cancel their 2021 Mardi Gras parades.
Both Lockport and Golden Meadow have announced the parades in those communities will not roll during the next Mardi Gras season.
Lockport mayor Ed Reinhardt posted the following on the Town of Lockport Facebook page: Due to the rise of cases of Covid-19 in town and the surrounding areas, I have decided to cancel the Lockport Mardi Gras Parade. This decision was not taken lightly. We cannot risk the health and safety of our citizens because the numbers keep rising daily. Terrebonne Parish, City of Thibodaux, and Town of Golden Meadow have cancelled as well. If things get better, I am willing to re-evaluate the situation, and the parade can possibly roll at a later time.
