NORRISTOWN â As the 64th week of the coronavirus pandemic in Montgomery County came to a close on Friday, health officials reported 25 additional residents tested positive for the virus, the seventh consecutive day the number of daily new cases fell below 50.
The 25 daily new positive COVID-19 cases reported on Friday brought the countyâs total number of positive cases to 58,905 since March 7, 2020, when the first two cases of the virus were identified in the county.
As of Friday, the 14-day average of daily positive COVID-19 cases stood at 37.2 which was a decrease from the 14-day average of 78.1 cases reported on May 15. The daily figures this week included:
NORRISTOWN â The downward trajectory of new coronavirus infections continued in Montgomery County on Thursday as health officials reported less than 30 new positive cases, a decline in hospitalizations and no new deaths.
The 29 daily new positive COVID-19 cases reported in the county on Thursday brought the countyâs total number of positive cases to 58,880 since March 7, 2020, when the first two cases of the virus were identified in the county, according to the countyâs COVID-19 online dashboard.
Thursday marked the twentieth consecutive day that the daily new cases of COVID-19 in the county fell below 100.

As of Thursday, the 14-day average of daily positive COVID-19 cases had fallen to 39.5 which was a decrease from the 14-day average of 83.7 cases reported on May 14.
