As the Bayanihan 2 law streamlines the issuance of permits, Globe Telecom signs a partnership with PhilTower Consortium, Inc. (PhilTower) to aggressively ramp up its network rollout in more areas in the National Capital Region (NCR) and Luzon. The partnership aims to install 500 new cell sites within the year.
Globe believes the partnership with PhilTower will boost the company’s response to its customers’ ever-increasing need for better, reliable, and accessible connectivity in the new normal.
“Our partnership with PhilTower will help us accelerate our cell site expansion. Consequently, this will bring better services to Globe subscribers in more locations in the country,” according to Vincent Tempongko, Globe Vice President for Site Acquisition.

Globe Telecom Inc. will officially launch its 5G roaming service in North America next week through Canada-based Telus on Tuesday, June 15, and USA-based AT&T on ThursdayJune 17.
The telco also today (June 10) announced its 5G roaming partnership with the leading European technology communications firm, Vodafone.
This means Globe roamers in Hungary, Germany, Ireland and Netherlands will get enhanced 5G connectivity experience by July 2021.
Visiting Vodafone subscribers may also experience 5G connectivity in the Philippines as long as they have 5G-enabled handsets and in 5G-powered locations in the country.
So far, Globe has the widest coverage of 5G roaming in Europe: Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Estonia through Telia Company; Italy through Telecom Italia; and Hungary, Germany, Ireland, and Netherlands through Vodafone.
