It doesn’t take a lot to improve the lives of others in your community.
Dan and Sherry Hartschen retired about six years after having careers as a receptionist and working in sales. They first started volunteering with Drive Happiness by offering people rides to various appointments. The experience cemented their purpose for volunteering.

“We realized how lucky we were,” said Sherry.
“One of the reasons why we volunteer is because we’re healthy. The people we picked up in Drive Happiness, some were healthy, and some were not, some I had to take to the hospital. One guy was on dialysis three times a week,” Dan explained. “It really put things in perspective.”
