MASSENA â Town of Massena residents can now mark their calendars for the townâs annual spring cleanup.
Highway Superintendent Frank Diagostino told Massena Town Council members on Wednesday that the event is scheduled for May 3 to 29 at the Massena Transfer Station on state Route 420.
He said the procedure would be the same as last year. Town residents who live outside the village of Massena will receive vouchers, as well as a pamphlet that lists what can be accepted and what will not be accepted.
âItâs kind of an educational thing,â Mr. Diagostino said.
Vouchers are available starting Monday by calling the town hall, 315-769-3588, ext. 2, or by emailing tpryce@massena.us. They can also be obtained by visiting the town hall. Individuals must show proof of residency in the town to receive the vouchers.

MASSENA â Donald Lucas has been part of an effort to revitalize the Grasse River for about 25 or 30 years, and he had some points to make during Thursdayâs community presentation on the Local Waterfront Revitalization Plan for the Grasse River in the downtown core.
âI donât want you to miss out on what could be a possible opportunity,â said Mr. Lucas, owner of Music Magic Charters in Massena.
He said town officials had once hired an ecosystems restoration specialist who was taking ideas for the development of the Grasse River.

MASSENA â More than 20 participants took part in Thursdayâs first public information meeting to address the village of Massenaâs Local Waterfront Revitalization Plan.
But, Robert Murphy Jr. said, the work has been going on for some time. Mr. Murphy is a community planner with Barton & Loguidice, the planâs consultants.
âThe planning document really sets the stage for what the current issues are, and what the possibilities are in the future for achieving the communityâs waterfront vision. We kicked things off last summer after we were retained by the village to help push forward both the Local Waterfront Revitalization Plan and the implementation project which was simultaneously funded by Department of State for the park on Water Street, right on the Grasse River,â Mr. Murphy said during the virtual meeting held via Zoom.
