Police Investigating Fatal Shooting at Leigh Farm Road Near Chapel Hill
The recent discovery of a body off Leigh Farm Road has police searching for more information.
The Durham Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting reported Wednesday morning in the 300 block of Leigh Farm Road, which is just past the Orange County line off North Carolina Highway 54.
Police found the victim, identified as 29-year-old Alvin Norwood Jr., after responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle shortly after 8:30 a.m. According to a release from the department, officers declared Norwood dead at the scene and say he appeared to have been shot inside the vehicle.

Officers were dispatched to the 5000 block of NC 55 Highway shortly after 10 a.m. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
He was taken to the hospital, where he died several hours later. His identity has not been released.
No charges have been filed and no further details have been released.
