EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Gildaâs Club Evansville, providing emotional and social support for people living with cancer, has rebranded with a new name.
The club held a ribbon-cutting Monday for what is now Cancer Pathways Midwest.
Directors say the name change was for a variety of reasons, mostly so the clubâs directive is more clear by the name.
They say the affiliation with Gildaâs Club had become too costly, and the money can be better spent locally.

“20 years ago we stood here on the front porch and we cut the ribbon. We didn’t know what we’ve been able to do but we have been amazed and rewarded and honored to be such a big part of the community,” said founder and executive director Anna Gottlieb.
But a recent fire at the building, on top of ongoing vandalism issues, now has Gottlieb pondering the cancer support organization’s future.

One thing the pandemic hasn’t changed this holiday season is the traffic that comes with last-minute shopping. On Tuesday the parking lot was busy at Southcenter Mall in Tukwila, and some customers found a spot further away from the entrance at other area retail stores.
