The 17th episode of season 10 of
The Walking Dead doesn’t play coy with the purpose of its existence. Right from the start, the first thing we see is Maggie Rhee, headed back toward Hilltop, the place she ran for a number of years, accompanied by Judith Grimes. Maggie’s return dictates not just the arc of this episode, but sets up what looks to be the next major threat to our heroes and potentially the last true villains they’ll face, given how close we are to the final season and the end of the series. Yes, to the list of nicknamed menaces like the Wolves, the Saviors, and the Whisperers, we can add one more group of still-breathing antagonists: the Reapers. Maybe Maggie’s homecoming wasn’t such a welcome one, after all.
This collection of Gracy’s short stories in translation is a frank celebration of female desire
‘Parting with Parvathi’, an excerpt from ‘Baby Doll: Short Stories’, by Gracy, translated from the Malayalam by Fathima EV. Author Gracy.
When Parvathi stepped into my life, we were both sixteen. Her fair chubby face, large bright eyes, and long thick hair intoxicated me. I was fed up with other girls whispering about men in voices tremulous with yearning. Often, it used to surprise me that I felt none of the attraction towards the opposite sex, natural among girls of my age.
On the other hand, I had to struggle to bring under control the bubbling excitement at my secret urge to touch Parvathi’s cheeks with my forefinger, press my lips to her eyes, or to caress her shiny hair. The surging flame in Parvathi’s eyes disturbed me. A gloomy voice within me kept murmuring that many an eyyampatta would be consigned to that flame.

I Care A Lot, but no matter at least her look deserves recognition. Pike went full couture cupcake in a pinkish-red, voluminous Molly Goddard gown. Not pictured: her platform, black chunky combat boots. It, too, is fun, and like Dan Levy’s suit, it screams Spring. I’m ready for color!
