This year Sacred Heart School decided as a social justice project to spread joy to the community and especially to seniors during this time of pandemic. Staff members created the project called Operation Christmas Joy, which included decorating outside the windows of long-term care at the Wetaskiwin and District Hospital and Care centre with wreath-shaped bird seed and fruit loop feeders.
Students created book marks for the residents while junior high students are becoming pen pals with residents. Additionally, over 200 Christmas cards have been created and will be distributed to the elderly throughout Wetaskiwin.
