Behind her, a piece of her art hangs on a light post one of a number that can be seen along the avenue. The art is part of what s called the Buffalo Banner Project, which included BigEagle-Kequahtooway providing workshops focused on sharing Indigenous knowledge and historical education on the buffalo, and the impacts of colonization on Plains Indigenous people. Participants from community groups, schools and local artists created buffalo-themed artwork and select pieces were chosen for the banners, which are meant to be displayed annually.
