Man, girl wounded after shooting at graduation party, police said

Treasure Coast Newspapers PORT ST. LUCIE Police are investigating a gunfire incident at a weekend graduation party that left a man and a girl with non-life threatening injuries, police said. Police about 10 p.m. Sunday went to the 900 block of Southwest Longfellow Road after a report of a disturbance at a party. A homeowner reported she was hosting a small graduation party that got too large. She was trying to get people to leave when she heard yelling and three apparent gunshots. Witnesses told investigators there was a fight in the living room, and when that ended they heard shots outside.

Victor Lopez, 26, was jailed on two felony charges related to lewd acts

Treasure Coast Newspapers FORT PIERCE A 26-year-old man was arrested on two felony charges in connection with alleged lewd acts in 2016, according to recently-released records. Victor Daniel Lopez, of the 400 block of Southeast Verada Avenue in Port St. Lucie, was arrested Tuesday after a Fort Pierce police investigation on charges of lewd or lascivious molestation of a person age 12 to 16, and lewd or lascivious exhibition. A person identified by police as the victim reported the allegations to investigators in February. As part of the case, the person called Lopez while in the presence of police, and Lopez reportedly said he grabbed her.

James Gutierrez, 55, jailed on felony aggravated battery charge

Treasure Coast Newspapers FORT PIERCE  A 55-year-old man was arrested after accusations he stabbed another man three times in the arm, according to an affidavit released Thursday. James Gutierrez, whose address was redacted from records, was arrested by Fort Pierce police at 12:34 a.m. Tuesday on a felony aggravated battery charge. Police about an hour earlier went to an undisclosed address. Dispatchers said a man was stabbed with a sword. A suspect named “Jimmy” was said to be living in the area of Avenue D and North 7th Street. Police spoke to a man who identified himself as “Jimmy.” Investigators reported finding two pocket knives on him. He told police he was grilling outside and argued with a man. He said the man tried to threaten him, and he was protecting himself.
