A 2000sq m, five-bedroom property, more castle than home, which was painstakingly built over one-and-a-half years on top of an old avocado orchard has come on the market for the first time.
Jan-Sari said it was a huge relief to become citizens. We qualified for permanent residency in September of 2017 and by then I was in Grade 11 and my brother was in Grade 9, she said. We ve both since graduated high school and in April 2020 we were made aware that we could book citizenship tests which we ended up sitting in November because of COVID. The family were invited to attend a citizenship ceremony this year. It was such a weight off our shoulders, Jan-Sari said. We felt at ease and relaxed, as it always felt like something could happen to not achieve it because of the past.

Subscriber only A crowd of hundreds listened to a moving ceremony at Buderim on Sunday in honour of servicemen and women from battles past and present. COVID-19 pandemic restrictions stopped the usual street parade going ahead, with the service being held exclusively in the grounds of Buderim Mountain State School. Those who gathered were invited to the Buderim Tavern after lunch for refreshments and some games of two-up. Here are some pictures from the commemoration.

Last year residents commemorated Anzac Day like never before as virus restrictions forced the cancellation of several marches and services. Some events will not go ahead on Sunday due to the recent outbreak in Brisbane as there was too little time to make suitable preparations under the previous guidelines.
