An updated winter storm warning, issued at just before 11 a.m., stated snow will continue with near blizzard and dangerous conditions in communities south of the Lakes Region. Low pressure will track near Nantucket this afternoon before gradually moving out to sea this evening, the alert stated. Snow will continue across the region today, with locally heavy snowbands producing snowfall rates of 2 to 4 inches per hour in some locations, mostly over southern and some central areas.
