today he was one step closer to learning his fate in this leesburg courtroom. it was october of last year when patrick wren and his wife, leah, were killed as they rode together on a harley. they both loved it. that was just something they enjoyed. reporter: the driver who hit them, 54-year-old attorney mark scarlotta was driving drunk. his blood alcohol level was almost twice the legal limit. today he pleaded ggt to two counts of manslaughter and one dui telling the judge, quote, it s the best way to put all this behind us. not so simple a task for the victims family. taking a day at a time and seeing what they would want me to do. reporter: he could get between 1 and 20 years on each of the manslaughter charges. he s out on bond but is due to turn himself in on august 7th with a sentencing hearing scheduled for december. in the wake of the family s loss, there s reflection and also advice for those who would make the decision to drink and drive. i couldn t imagin
