NEW LONDON Officials are investigating a Sunday carjacking near Bank and Summer streets, according to the police department.
A person told police that after her vehicle was hit from behind, she got out of her Infiniti Q60 to check for damage, according to a post from New London Police Department. When she did so, someone from the vehicle that hit her a four-door Mazda “got out with a gun, pointed it at her and stole her vehicle,” according to the post.

New London A woman was issued an infraction following a school bus crash Tuesday, police said.
Juana Mena-Paulino, 41, of New London was charged with failure to drive right after the school bus she was driving struck a utility pole in the area of 37 Lower Boulevard about 3:19 p.m. Tuesday, according to the New London Police Department. She was charged at the scene Tuesday.
Approximately seven students and one other adult were on the bus at the time. No injuries were reported, police said.
New London emergency personnel responded to the scene of the accident, along with New London Public School and Eversource personnel, according to the police report.
