Show birds some love
Friends of Willow River will host a âFor the love of birdsâ event from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, May 15 at the nature center. A variety of activities will be available, including learning bird calls, a bird scavenger hunt, comparing nests, feathers and beaks, and more.
Program is limited to 100 people. Masks are encouraged in close proximity to others.Â
Drinks with a side of ribbon cutting
The New Richmond Chamber of Commerce will host a Business After 5 and ribbon cutting event from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Friday, May 14 at 45th Parallel Spirits.Â
The event will feature networking, food and beverages, and will celebrate the new event space at 45th Parallel.Â
NEW RICHMOND Following an hour discussion that included testimony once again by local business owners and residents who will be impacted negatively by a downtown location of Fun Fest the weekend of July 8-11, council members 4-2 in favor of allowing Fun Fest to take place minus the beer tent and music (live bands) at Minnesota Avenue between West Third and Fourth streets as well as West Third between Minnesota and Knowles avenues.
Business owners noted the festivalâs impact lasts a whole week, including setup and takedown, in addition to the ongoing public health risk posed by the pandemic, behavioral and sanitation issues as well as noise and neighborhood parking concerns.Â
