Airbnb moves to ban Capitol rioters, crack down on hate groups ahead of Biden’s inauguration Nelson Oliveira
Airbnb said Monday that it was trying to remove people associated with violent hate groups, including those responsible for last week’s deadly pro-Trump attack in Washington, D.C., as the nation’s capital braces for more violence in the coming days.
The popular home-sharing company said it would also review arrest records connected to Wednesday’s U.S. Capitol siege and cross-reference them to find out if any of the rioters have an Airbnb account.
“If the individuals have an Airbnb account, we take action, which includes banning them from using Airbnb,” the San Francisco-based platform said in a statement.
