This photo is likely to bring back memories for anyone who went ‘to the pictures’ in Accrington in the Sixties and Seventies. Taken in 1974 it shows the recently refurbished New Princes Cinema on Edgar Street which used to host Saturday morning matinees for children. At the time of the photograph it was showing a double bill of The Chinese Connection and The One Armed Swordsman - both X certificate. You can also see the adult bookshop next door which had a certain notoriety in the town.
