Cougarettes hand Matadors second straight district loss, Friday game at Boerne-Champion to air on KWED (Seguin) – Seguin landed on the short end of a 16-11 slug-fest against New Braunfels-Canyon on Tuesday afternoon in the fifth game of the District 26-5A softball slate. The Matadors connected for 15 hits, but the Cougarettes topped that number with 17. Canyon’s short game execution and speed on the bases kept constant pressure on the Seguin defense. The Cougarettes scored six unearned runs on three Matador errors. “You can talk about all the errors, but if they’re not putting the bat on the ball, it doesn’t happen, so you’ve got to give them credit,” Seguin head coach John Garcia said. “They put the bat on the ball.
