HarrisburgJoseph Randall Sleek, 69, of Harrisburg, joined the Lord on May 11, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.
Joseph was born June 6, 1951, in New Paris, to the late Joseph Riley Sleek and Doris Sleek.
After graduating from Chestnut Ridge High School, Joe attended Lycoming College, where he obtained a degree in accounting. Joe worked as a board of appeals member for the PA Department of Revenue for 35 years.
After retirement, he volunteered for Meals on Wheels, the Central PA Food Bank and the Mission trip with his church to Tennessee. Joe enjoyed playing golf and poker with friends. An avid traveler, he had the opportunity to visit many countries after retirement. He was a lifelong Steelers and Pirates fan. In his younger years, he took pleasure in helping to coach his sonâs various sports activities.
RPD investigators at New Paris Pike shooting scene
RICHMOND, Ind. Richmond Police Department was investigating a shooting Thursday evening on New Paris Pike.
Capt. Curt Leverton, supervisor of the Investigative Services Division, confirmed the shooting, and he said two people were injured, with one being transported to Reid Health. He would not elaborate on the seriousness of the injuries.
Yellow police tape blocked a long driveway and a house on the south side of New Paris Pike just east of Ind. 227 and across from a mobile home park. RPD vehicles blocked traffic at Ind. 227 and just east of the house in the 1400 block.

NEW PARIS Residents and elected officials discussed maintenance, crime, and traffic-related issues during a heated village council meeting on Monday, May 3.
Ida Shafer, who lives on Water Street on the west side of the village, stated that she had been threatened by another property owner on the street after complaining about drug and prostitution-related arrests taking place at one of his properties during previous council meetings.
