SOUTH HURON – The municipality announced Feb. 3 that it had officially learned it had been turned down for a 50 per cent grant for a proposed new $25-million single ice pad and community centre.
As previously reported, South Huron applied in November 2019 for a grant from the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program to replace the South Huron Rec Centre in Exeter.

In a press release on its website, the municipality said South Huron’s share was to be an estimated $6.74 million. There was also a plan for fundraising and sponsorships for the project.
