Interstate 78 East will be reduced from three to two travel lanes approaching the Delaware River toll bridge and continuing across the bridge until further notice.
The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission announced the new lane configuration Wednesday, a day after the lane was shut down due to safety reasons east of the Morgan Hill Road/Route 611 interchange (Exit 75).
A section of an expansion joint where the bridge meets the New Jersey-side highway broke off and became a travel hazard, the commission said in a news release.
