Cynthia Yalisove, 63, of Hockessin, Del., was charged on May 14 by New Castle County Division of Police with one count of felony theft, and additional charges for animal cruelty were also drafted by Pennsville Police Department, the New Castle County Division of Police announced Tuesday. Officers were called to Hockessin’s home on April 6 for a report of theft and were told by the family that their 6-month-old Pyredoodle had gone missing the day before, police said. The animal was a therapy dog for the family’s child. The family had searched throughout the night for the dog and reported it missing through social media, police said.
