New Concord Blessings Box brings help to those who need it most

NEW CONCORD - As you drive down Main Street in New Concord, you’re sure to see signs of the holiday season everywhere. Street lights are wrapped with fragrant evergreen boughs. The larger than life Christmas tree that lights up the town and elaborate, magical store window displays. What you might not notice is a small, unassuming wooden box located outside of Makers on Main.
This little box, called the Blessings Box, by Makers on Main store owner Stacey Crosson, has come to be a beacon of hope in these dark, winter days. It’s no shock that the area has suffered due to the pandemic, with families struggling to find ways to put food on the table. The idea for the box started with Crosson’s aunt, Susan Tripp. Tripp had put out a Blessings Box in Zaleski, close to Crosson’s hometown of Wellston. “Why not start one (here), too?” Crosson asked herself at the beginning of the COVID-
