What an incredible story this is. It is about kindness, helping in the community and not being discouraged to perform a good deed in spite of challenges.
Every year for the past 16 years, Aaron Placourakis of Tri-Star Restaurants has hosted the clients and workers of Ka Lima O Maui for a great Christmas luncheon. This year, with the challenges of COVID-19, he still made Christmas very special for the Ka Lima ohana.
Sadly, Sarento’s on the Beach, which was the venue all of those previous years, is now closed. Still, in spite of these challenges, Aaron kept his commitment alive by having the staff of Manoli’s Pizza Company and Nick’s Fishmarket prepare lunches to go for over 100 Ka Lima O Maui clients and workers.

The hardest part of New Year’s Eve is deciding where to celebrate or
how to celebrate this year. But Shell Shack has solved that problem for you by hosting a fun and safe party at all their locations. There’s no cover to get in, but there will be plenty of food and drinks for purchase. The kitchen will be serving up delicious crab, catfish, oysters, shrimp and other favorites all night long, while the bar pours beer, bubbly and creative cocktails.

Best of all: Attendees will receive a free bottle of champagne with the purchase of any combo platter. And if guests stick around until the clock strikes 12, they can enjoy a champagne toast at midnight!

This is how the entrance to the M&M Building, at the corner of School Street and Jones Street in Dalton, will look when it reopens as apartments next spring.
Dalton businessman Steve Herndon says he s seeing exciting things happening in Dalton, from the expansion of Hamilton Medical Center (through the Anna Shaw Children s Institute and the Peeples Cancer Institute) to new firms opening in the area, such as German automobile parts manufacturer GEDIA Automotive Group. We saw a big need for some higher-end apartment units, with all of this growth, he said.
Herndon and his wife Tammy and their company Herndon Properties are in the process of converting the M&M Building, a former office building at the corner of School Street and Jones Street, into apartments.
