Govt to reverse sales tax on sugar to ex-mill rate by Nov 30

July 20, 2021 ISLAMABAD: The government, in order to ensure reasonable reduction in the sugar price, on Monday decided to reverse the sales tax to the ex-mill rate till November 30, 2021. The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan to review the prices of essential commodities, the PM Office Media Wing said in a press release. The meeting was attended by Minister for Finance Shaukat Tarin, Minister for Industries and Production Khusru Bakhtiar, PM’s Advisor on Accountability Mirza Shahzad Akbar, PM’s Special Assistant on Social Protection Dr Sania Nishtar and senior officials. Chief secretaries of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa attended the meeting through video link.

Rasheed calls on PM, submits report over security situation in Sindh

Daily Times June 2, 2021 Minister for Interior Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad Wednesday called upon Prime Minister Imran Khan and submitted a report over security situation in the Sindh province. He apprised him about his visit to Karachi, PM Office Media Wing in a press release said. Sheikh Rasheed also informed the prime minister about his recent visit to Kuwait and said the issuance of Kuwaiti visas to Pakistanis after a gap of 10 years was a big diplomatic success. The prime minister felicitated the minister on his successful visit to Kuwait and expressed gratitude to the Kuwaiti leadership and the government over resolution of the issue of visas.
