select The Center for Maine Contemporary Art, located at 21 Winter Street in Rockland, will present an exhibition called “S.B. Walker: Nor’east” May 29–September 12. Included in the exhibition are more than 50 images from the photographer’s six-year journey documenting contemporary life in Maine.
Beginning in early 2014, Walker traveled more than 100,000 miles throughout the state in an attempt to render a nuanced visual record of Maine. OPENING IN JULY: Crystal Bridges celebrates its 10th anniversary this year with the exhibition “Crystal Bridges at 10,” featuring more than 140 works, including Deborah Roberts’ mixed media on panel “He Looks Like Me.”
What the immediate future holds for our museum-going life is still a bit murky, thanks to the unknowns of the pandemic. But what is certain is that big things are on the post-pandemic horizon, with a spruced-up and expanded Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts coming in 2022 and a 100,000-square-foot expansion at
Crystal Bridges Museum of Fine Art in 2024.
