Peter Burnett died in April at Morriston Hospital, Swansea. He was 58. In the 1980s and 90s, Dean s parents ran a pub in Pontycymer, in the Garw Valley north of Bridgend.

AN iconic purple suit worn by Peter Kay for the ‘Amarillo’ Comic Relief single has been snapped up by a seaside entertainment museum. Curators at the new Showtown musem in Blackpool have acquired the flamboyant suit, which the Bolton funnyman wore while filming the famous video to the Tony Christie hit, using an Arts Council grant. In the wake of the single’s phenomenal success, with the track remaining at number one for seven weeks, Peter sold off the two-piece in 2005 to raise funds for Bolton Hospice. And since then garment has remained in private hands, before being placed up for sale earlier this year.
Top comedians are to perform in a special online Comedy and Carols event for the Diocese of St Asaph this Christmas. The evening of fun, laughter and carol singing on Tuesday December 22 will feature Daliso Chaponda who won the Golden Buzzer on Britain’s Got Talent and performed at the Royal Variety Show last weekend watched by over 150 million people worldwide. He will be joined by Barbara Nice, the overenthusiastic housewife alter-ego of Birmingham-based performer Janice Connolly, who previously appeared in Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights, and is well known on the circuit for her lively, upbeat presence. The evening is hosted by Tony Vino who has been touring the comedy scene since 2005.
