Attorneys for Britany Barron are scheduled to meet with the state Attorney General’s office to discuss a possible plea deal this week. Barron, of Jaffrey, is charged with three felony counts of tampering with evidence for allegedly helping her husband cover up the murder of Jonathan Amerault of Keene.
During a dispositional conference at the Coos Superior Court, held by teleconference on Monday, attorneys for both sides said they were working toward a possible plea agreement. The two sides are scheduled to meet Wednesday out of court to discuss a plea agreement and several other matters.

Britany Barron was doing what her husband told her to do when she cut the head off of her dead lover and dumped his body in a remote stream, and Judge Peter Bornstein said thatâs reason enough to keep her in jail pending trial.
âThe defendant did as her husband told her to do,â Bornstein said at Britany Barronâs bail hearing Monday. âThere is still a substantial risk the defendant will do as her husband tells her to do.â
Barron, 31, is charged with destroying evidence after her husband, Armando Barron, shot and killed her lover, Jonathan Amerault, 25, on Sept. 19, 2020, in Jaffrey.
