The last time Lucerne Valley Middle High School Principal Kelly Boeing saw her students a year ago, some were several inches shorter and life was much simpler.
But on Monday, a bright, sun-shiny day in the High Desert, Boeing, Co-Principal/Assistant Superintendent Nate Lambdin and their staff welcomed the taller and wiser students back to campus for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic forced schools closed across California.

COVID-19: Lucerne Valley schools to reopen April 5 with modified schedules
Middle high school moves to hybrid model; elementary expands days on campus

Lucerne Valley Unified School District officials have announced that schools will reopen on April 5, with the middle high school starting in a hybrid model and the elementary expanding the number of days for in-classroom instruction.
The announcement comes after San Bernardino County on Sunday moved into the red tier of California’s four-tiered, color-coded reopening plan amid a significant decrease in COVID-19 cases and rising vaccination rates. The red tier is less restrictive than the purple tier and allows schools and certain businesses to reopen with modifications.
Hangar Homes tries again at Solent Airport

Hangar Homes developer Peter Day is persisting with his plan for Solent Airport by submitting a new planning application for six mixed-use hangars and a heritage hangar/centre.
Peter decided to submit the new application to tackle specific points raised by the planning inspector to his original proposal.
“A legal challenge to the decision to refuse the appeal is risky and hugely expensive if you lose,” said Peter. “So instead I have decided to pursue a new planning application addressing all of the reasons for refusal.”
They are:
Provision of employment use. The whole of the ground floor will be designated as commercial use for aviation-related businesses, exceeding that of the residential use, and increasing the employment density even more than existing airside businesses.
