Student missing from Buffalo State College
Saniyya Dennis, 19, was last seen on April 24, 2021 on the Buffalo State College campus. Police say she was last seen leaving her dorm on Buffalo State’s campus around 11:00 p.m. Saturday.
She sent her last text message to her mother a little after midnight saying that she would call her in the morning. Her phone last pinged on Sunday at 1:23 a.m. near Goat Island by Niagra Falls State Park. According to Buffalo State police, footage of Saniyya at the bus terminal was found but has currently been unreleased.
UPD Chief Peter Carey said during a news conference that investigators have found no cell phone, electronic or financial activity since Dennis disappeared, but WKBD reported searches have focused on Goat Island, where police say Saniyya’s phone last pinged at 1:23 a.m. Sunday morning. Evidently, further research suggest that the University police didn’t get the information about the ping till after the news conference.

Family is offering a $10,000 reward for information about missing 19-year-old Buffalo State College student Saniyya Dennis, as searches conducted near Niagara Falls in upstate New York over the weekend turned up empty more than one week after her disappearance.
The college sophomore was last seen around 11 p.m. on April 24 in surveillance footage leaving her residence hall. Family said she handed in a school assignment before catching a bus to Niagara Falls. A ping from her cellphone was detected aboute two hours later in Niagara Falls State Park, 17 miles from campus. There has been no cellphone electronic activity since then and no financial activity or other communication with family or friends, Buffalo State Police Chief Peter Carey said.

Police are looking for a missing college sophomore who went missing from her college campus last Saturday. Saniyya Dennis, 19, was last seen leaving her dorm room on the campus of SUNY Buffalo State College on April 24 around 11 p.m., according to the university police department. Our one and only goal in this investigation is to locate Saniyya and reconnect her with her family, university police Chief Peter Carey said in a statement. Understandably, emotions are high right now, but I want to be clear that our department will not rest until Saniyya is found. Buffalo State remains in close consultation with and is supporting the Dennis family.
