Coronation Street fans have been left in tears following a heartbreaking scene in Wednesday night s episode where Ken Barlow (William Roache) and his son Peter (Chris Gascoyne) discussed their struggles with mental health.
The segment, which has been praised by viewers across social media, saw Peter tell his dad he felt as if he could no longer carry on with life, as he battled liver failure in hospital following his alcoholism relapse.
Ken later revealed to his son that he had previously battled depression, and had attempted taking his own life 30 years ago.

Covering their tracks
When Peter came home after being out all night with blood on his jumper, Carla immediately feared the worst and panicked that Peter was the one who left Adam for dead.

Despite Peter’s protests that he was innocent, Carla didn’t believe him and made it her mission to get rid of the evidence.
The police ask questions
While Peter was at the police station telling the police that he was drunk on a park bench the night before, Carla was pouring bleach on his jumper after finding it in the washing basket.

Coronation Street has aired some tell-tale clues that Gary Windass and Peter Barlow could have something to hide after Adam s mystery attack.
Gary (Mikey North) and Peter (Chris Gascoyne) are two of the official suspects in the frame after Adam was attacked by an unknown culprit at the Bistro last week.
Monday s first episode – set on the morning after the incident – has now seen Gary and Peter both behaving suspiciously.
