WHIZ News St Rose School in New Lexington to Close COLUMBUS – St. Rose School, a Catholic elementary school located in New Lexington, Ohio, within the Diocese of Columbus, will be closing at the conclusion of the current school year. “It is with a heavy heart that I write to inform you that St. Rose School will not be able to open for students in the 2021-22 school year,” Father Todd Lehigh, pastor of the Perry County Consortium of Catholic Parishes, said in a letter to school parents informing them of the decision.  “Sadly, the projected enrollment and operating expenses are not sufficient enough to justify opening the doors this Fall.”

During the diocesan annual Respect Life Mass, held on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade and presided over by local ordinary Bishop Robert Brennan at St. Joseph Cathedral, eight activists interrupted the bishop’s homily as they rushed into the cathedral and then paraded around the pews before reaching the altar, displaying posters with messages that read: “Fund abortion, not cops,” and “Abortion on demand, end Hyde now.”

Bishop Robert Brennan said the church was holding a Respect Life Mass. In a live-streamed video on YouTube that has since been removed, a group of people can be heard coming into the church shouting and were seen carrying signs in support of allowing people to have abortions.
