Labasa wins 5th CVC title after beating Suva 2-1 Sunday 21/02/2021
Defending champion, Labasa has won their fifth Pillay Garments Champion versus Champion series after beating Suva 2-1 in the second leg at the ANZ Stadium this afternoon.
Taniela Waqa scored the winning goal for Labasa in the 39th minute of the second half.
Labasa’s first goal was scored by striker, Marlon Tahioa through a beautiful header in the 47th minute of the match.
Remueru Tekiate scored Suva’s only goal.
Labasa soccer team coach, Ravneel Pratap has dedicated the win to the people of Vanua Levu who have been affected by TC Yasa and Ana.

334 applicants benefit from initiative
A total of 334 applicants have benefited from the Ministry of Housing’s First Home and First Land Grant initiative, receiving a total payout in excess of $5 million during the 2020-2021 financial year. Suva striker Sairusi Nalaubu will not take part in this weekend’s Pillay Garments Champion versus Champion Series.
This has been confirmed by Fiji FA chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf.
Yusuf said Nalaubu’s transfer case to Lautoka is still under dispute making him ineligible to feature.
The Suva Football Facebook Page named its squad for the CVC this morning where Nalaubu was also named.
Football fans have been raising a lot of questions on whether he will feature for the whites.
