Both the ownership and breeding of pit bulls were banned in the UK in 1991. Levi Brown, 25, from Fletcher Close, Crawley, is opposing an application for the nine dogs to be destroyed. If granted, brown coloured pitbull terrier Gucci and her eight puppies, who are also pit bull terrier dogs, will be destroyed. A court hearing has been adjured until August 28 at Brighton Magistrates Court. In the UK, it’s against the law to own certain types of dogs. These are the pit bull terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino and Fila Brasileiro. It’s also against the law to sell, abandon, give away or breed a banned dog.
