Plastic Pipe Institute names Projects of the Year winners

The Plastics Pipe Institute Inc. (PPI), the major North American trade association representing the plastic pipe industry, has announced the winners of its Projects and Members of the Year program.
The Irving, Tex.-based association said that this year it received the most submissions, and that it was also the first year in a decade of the program’s existence to have multiple project winners in two divisions.
Winning projects included the Florida installation of one of the largest horizontal directional drilling (HDD) of 54-inch diameter pipe, a new stormwater drainage system for a new soccer complex in Haiti, plus the underground installation of electrical conduit to protect hot air balloons. Inoex gives radar sensor technology a mechanical redesign

The Warp brand inline measuring system offers remote commissioning, simple operation, and maintenance during production, according to iNOEX LLC.
Lancaster, Pa.-based Inoex LLC uses the latest radar sensor technology for noncontact measurement of the diameter and wall thickness of pipe as it is being extruded.
The Warp inline product portfolio has a new mechanical design based on dozens of installations around the world, according to Inoex President Adam M. Grier. Over the last few years, these installations have proven the underlying radar technology can accurately and reliably measure pipes produced from a range of raw materials during production, Grier said in an email.
