Delaware County loses blue COVID-19 state ranking as cases rise
MUNCIE, Ind. The statistics used to measure the spread of COVID-19 within Delaware County and the rest of East Central Indiana are looking worse just as officials drop the local mask mandate.
Two weeks ago, Blackford County was the only county in East Central Indiana to lose blue ranking, the lowest designation by the Indiana State Department of Health for the spread of the virus.
This week, Grant, Delaware and Henry counties all lost their blue ranking.
The Indiana State Department of Health assigns every county a color each week based on its weekly case total per 100,000 residents and positivity rate. Blackford has improved its numbers over what was reported last week.
