The Pleasantville Police Department has completed an investigation after receiving information on possible stalking and witness tampering. 75-year-old Pat Bennett faces charges of stalking and witness tampering after allegedly attempting to alter the testimony of a witness in criminal proceedings involving 50-year-old Chad Bennett, a family member of Pat. Chad Bennett is in custody awaiting trial on a sexual abuse charge. The witness is a juvenile.
According to court documents, Pat Bennett, on numerous occasions, attempted to make contact with the witness by following the witness with her vehicle on her way home from school. The juvenile would take off running in an attempt to flee from Bennett.

A 26-year-old man from Atlantic County was shot dead, and two teenagers were wounded, in a shooting, authorities said.
On Thursday at 2:57 p.m., 9-1-1 calls were received at the Pleasantville Police Department reporting that victims had been shot on the 100 block of Linden Avenue, according to Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner.
Pleasantville police officers foumd Maurice Hampton, also known as Abdul Hamid shot and killed, Tyner said. An autopsy was being performed on Friday.
Two 18 year-old shooting victims who survived were identified as Messiah Burton and Shilameen Henderson, both of Pleasantville. They were taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Campus.

Pleasantville Police were initially called to the scene, where they found the body of Maurice Hampton, aka “Abdul Hamid”, 26, of Pleasantville. He had been shot.
Authorities now say two other people were shot, and taken to the hospital for treatment. They ve been identified as Messiah Burton and Shilameen Henderson, both 18, both of Pleasantville.
