A cornhole tournament fundraiser in memory of Braintree police K-9 Kitt was held at French s Common by Town Hall.The money raised at the event, which also featured a beer garden and auction, will go to the Braintree Police Officer s Support Fund and the Working Dog Foundation, which helps police departments in New England train and care for their K-9 teams. When you look at the amount of folks today that have come out, it s just indicative of how our community comes together during very difficult times, said Braintree Mayor Charles Kokoros. This is a true tribute to Officer Kitt, as well as all of our officers here in the town of Braintree. K-9 Kitt was killed in a shootout during a domestic dispute call on June 4.
