BOISE, Idaho â Mike Duke is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who lost his left arm during his service because of a flesh-eating bacteria. I remember it like it was yesterday, I couldnât breathe, my body was going into septic shock so they took me to the Balboa Naval Hospital and actually did a death imminent on me.
That was back in the early 2000s, but Duke credits a strong support system, Brazilian Jujitsu and the Challenged Athletes Foundation for helping him stay active.

When I decided to start my wellness company, naming it felt really difficult. How do I sum up in a single word all the ideas I have from years of Krav Maga, Brazilian Ju-Jitsu, philosophy, yoga, history, and respiration therapy into a single word. I have always had as my motto, to keep things “short and efficient” but this needed to be shorter and more efficient than anything I had ever done before.

Two local women have achieved a unique distinction in the world of self defence and protection.
Jessica Moreland and Clare Bennett have been studying, practising and training in Krav Maga for five years.
Krav Maga is a self defence system developed by Imi Litchenfield in 1930 in Czechoslovakia, but was adopted by the Israeli Defence Forces.
Now the women, who are also both members of Dovestone WI, have raised their skill-set to the next level, and have become qualified instructors, under the expert teaching and guidance of Global Kapap Chief Instructor, Adrian Valman.
They are now part of the Global Kapap International Network, one of the largest professional self protection organisations used to teach police, military personnel and civilians worldwide.
