Police tape off Blackburn street as man left with serious injuries in attack A MAN is in a serious condition following an assault in the street. Officers were called to reports of an incident outside of the Salvation Army on Clayton Street, Blackburn, at around 4.30 on Monday afternoon. An investigation has now been launched after the man, 35, was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital with serious head injuries. As part of inquiries officers want to speak to Brendan Duff, 30, as they believe he could have information which may assist. Detective Chief Inspector Derry Crorken, of Blackburn Police, said: “This assault has left a man in a very serious condition in hospital and I would appeal for anyone who wither witnessed the incident itself or who has any information to come forward.
