UConn men top Georgetown behind R.J. Cole, James Bouknight

UConn hit six of its first seven shots of the game on Tuesday night, and also hit six of its final seven shots.
In between, there were stretches of poor shooting, sloppy turnovers and, in coach Dan Hurley’s own words, “doing bizarre things with the ball.”
Ultimately, there was enough James Bouknight and R.J. Cole to lead the Huskies to a 70-57 victory over Georgetown.
Bouknight, gassed after 36 minutes against Villanova on Saturday, certainly looked fresh down the stretch against the Hoyas. The sophomore guard finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while also connecting with Cole on a pair of alley-oop dunks and burying a late 3-pointer to all but settle UConn’s win at McDonough Arena.

It’s the stuff Big East dreams are made of.
Now, open your eyes and find yourself at Alumni Hall, with no fans in attendance and Bouknight dressed in sweats on the bench.
That was the reality on Wednesday afternoon as UConn resumed its Big East rivalry with Providence. The only part of the fantasy sequence that was real was Duke, who lived up to his end of the deal.
Duke, Providence’s All-American candidate guard, scored three of the Friars’ first four baskets in the first three minutes of the second half to put PC ahead for good in a 70-59 victory over the Huskies. He and inside bully Nate Watson finished with 17 points apiece as the Friars snapped a three-game losing streak and improved to 10-10 overall, 6-8 Big East.

Looks like DraftKings went with a slightly bigger main GPP for this Saturday, and a lower price point – $10 makes it decently easy to multi-enter this thing, so hopefully we can fill it and get these contest sizes bigger.

Mahoney scores 20, leads No. 11 Creighton past No. 23 UConn
By ERIC OLSONJanuary 23, 2021 GMT
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) Creighton’s Denzel Mahoney bounced back from one of his worst games of the season to play one of his best.
Mahoney scored 20 points and the 11th-ranked Bluejays broke open a close game in the last 10 minutes to beat No. 23 Connecticut 74-66 Saturday.
Mahoney made 8 of 14 shots from the field after going a season-worst 1 for 10 against Providence on Wednesday.
“I wasn’t really worried about my shot,” he said. “The best shooters in the world miss shots, and I’m confident in my game and my shot. I came in confident as usual and they just happened to go in today.”
